Sarah Buchanan is an Associate Professor in the School of Information Science & Learning Technologies at the University of Missouri, where she directs archival studies education. She holds a PhD in Information Science and leads digital humanities initiatives.
Her research investigates archival practices in museum archaeology, digital curation of cultural heritage, and provenance research methodologies. Current projects include computational archival science and community-based documentation approaches.
Buchanan teaches archival management, digital preservation, and cultural heritage informatics. She advises the Public Broadcasting Preservation Fellowship and partners with cultural institutions on collection stewardship projects.
