Sarah Breusch is the Director of the University of Newcastle Legal Centre (UNLC) and a clinical supervisor in the Law School's Practice Program. She holds academic roles as a lecturer and coordinator for courses including Professional Skills (LAWS4054A) and Wills and Estates Practice (LAWS4055B). Her expertise spans wills and estates, elder law, and civil disputes, complemented by extensive experience in clinical legal education. Admitted to the Supreme Courts of NSW and ACT, as well as the High Court of Australia since 1995, she has practiced law since 2003.
She teaches within the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Program and previously lectured in Legal System and Method, Civil Litigation Practice, and other legal disciplines. Sarah actively engages in community legal education through seminars on Wills, Power of Attorney, and Enduring Guardian documents. She is a founding member of the Law on the Beach Program, focusing on practical legal training for students while providing free legal aid to underserved communities.
Prior to UNLC, Sarah worked in commercial litigation at King Wood Mallesons and Clayton Utz, including a secondment to the Australia New Zealand Food Authority. She has served on the ACT Welfare Rights and Legal Service Board and the ACT Law Society Complaints Committee.
