Sarah Boyd is a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of English and Comparative Literature at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She holds a PhD (2017) and MA (2007) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a BA (2003) from the University of Kansas.
Her research focuses on aesthetics, early American literature, history of the book, visual culture, and disciplinary writing pedagogy. She explores intersections between literary forms and visual arts, particularly in 18th–19th century contexts. Her work has appeared in volumes like The Oxford Handbook of Charles Brockden Brown and journals such as boundary 2 and Journal of Fantastic Arts.
Her awards include the Robert A. Bain Award (2014) and a Graduate Research Fellowship (2011). She teaches courses on American literature, science fiction, and writing in specialized disciplines like natural sciences, medicine, and law.
