Sarah Binkley is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at Baldwin Wallace University. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Akron and previously earned dual bachelor’s degrees in biology and adolescence-to-young-adult education (integrated science) from Walsh University. Before joining BW in 2014, she served as an adjunct instructor at institutions such as Ohio State University and Ohio University.
Her research interests span inorganic chemistry, biochemistry (specifically rhenium radiopharmaceuticals), and pedagogical research in chemistry instruction. Currently, her research group is in its formation stage. She teaches general chemistry, organic chemistry, and physical science investigations alongside their laboratory components.
Prior to academia, Binkley worked as a high school science educator and gained forensic experience through a summer internship at a local crime lab. This transition led her to pursue advanced studies in chemistry, focusing on inorganic biochemistry during her doctoral research under Christopher Ziegler.
