Sarah Babcock is an Assistant Professor at Dharma Realm Buddhist University specializing in pre-modern Chinese literature and Buddhism. She holds a Ph.D. from UC Santa Barbara (2020) and has taught Mandarin at DRBU since 1996. Her research focuses on Song Dynasty religious and literary figures, particularly Chan monk Juefan Huihong’s works, blending poetics, social critique, and religious practices. She has also contributed to Chinese language pedagogy, addressing optative verb usage in cross-cultural contexts.
Education highlights include a B.A. in Chinese Language from UC Berkeley (2003), M.A. in Asian Studies from UCSB (2009), and A.A. from Mendocino College (2000).
