John Kieschnick is the Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Professor of Buddhist Studies and Courtesy Professor of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Stanford University. He currently chairs the Department of Religious Studies and directs the Ho Center for Buddhist Studies. His academic career includes roles at institutions like the University of Bristol and Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He holds a Ph.D. from Stanford (1996) and B.A. from UC Berkeley (1986).
