Her work bridges academic and artistic collaborations, including co-curating the exhibition We are here, because you were there: Afghan interpreters in the UK, and contributing to parliamentary evidence sessions on protection for Locally Engaged Civilians. She has published extensively on migration governance, decolonial feminism, and the role of brokers in conflict and development. Her teaching emphasizes critical pedagogy and global justice, co-editing influential volumes like Decolonization and Feminisms in Global Teaching and Learning.
Professor de Jong’s advocacy extends to refugee rights, particularly through the Sulha Alliance, and she collaborates with organizations like the Migration Museum to challenge narratives around migration and belonging. Her research underscores the intersections of gender, race, and colonialism in shaping global power dynamics.
