Sara Sánchez is an Associate Professor of Law at IE University's Law School, where she teaches conflict of laws and co-directs the IE Legal Clinic. She holds a PhD in Law (Cum Laude) from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2014), an LL.M. in European Union Law (2009), and a dual degree in Law and Business Administration (2007). Prior to academia, she practiced corporate law at Uría Menéndez's capital markets department (2014–2016), specializing in IPOs and corporate governance.
Her research focuses on the intersection of private international law with emerging technologies, particularly in capital markets and FinTech. Key areas include cross-border regulatory frameworks for financial innovation, transnational litigation challenges, and legal implications of global value chains. She actively contributes to the European Association of Private International Law (EAPIL) and Madrid Bar Association.
Academic roles include adjunct professorships at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (2012–2020) and profesora honoraria at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2013–2018). Her professional training includes a Ministry of Science-funded teaching fellowship (2008–2012). She is affiliated with UN Sustainable Development Goals 8 (Decent Work), 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and 13 (Climate Action).
