Sara Scanga is Distinguished Professor of Biology at Utica University School of Arts & Sciences, specializing in plant ecology and conservation science. Her NSF-funded research examines invasive species dynamics and biodiversity conservation, with recent publications on Alliaria petiolata establishment patterns. Educational initiatives develop data-rich curricula using national ecological observatory networks.
Holds Ph.D. in Ecology from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and B.A. from Drew University. Recognized with Harold T. Clark Award for scholarship leadership. Current projects include Macrosystems Ecology for All network and STEM pathways programs.
