Sara Saberi

Sara Saberi is an Associate Professor at The Business School of Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), affiliated with the Department of Industrial Engineering. She holds the Norton Assistant Professorship (2023). Her research focuses on supply chain networks, blockchain technology, and sustainable decision-making. She has received grants from NSF and EDA, emphasizing supply chain resilience during crises.

Education: PhD in Business Administration (Management Science, UMass Amherst, 2016); PhD in Industrial Engineering (University Putra Malaysia, 2010); MS in Socio-Economic Systems Engineering (Isfahan University of Technology, 2006); BS in Computer Engineering (Shiraz University, 2004).

Research Interests: Supply chain equilibrium modeling, blockchain adoption barriers, sustainable supply chain networks, and crisis-driven manufacturing solutions. She has published in top journals like International Journal of Production Economics and European Journal of Operational Research.

Awards include NSF I-Corps Funding (2021), Sloan Research Fellowship Nomination (2020), and the INFORMS Outstanding Doctoral Student Researcher Award (2015). She advises numerous student projects, emphasizing project-based learning and industry collaboration through WPI's Digital platform.
