Sara R. Yazdani is an Associate Professor of Art History and Theory and Head of Theory MFA at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Her research focuses on modern and contemporary art, with emphases on ecology, art-media-technology intersections, sensation, and process philosophy. She directs the Norwegian Arts Council-funded Parallel Ecologies project (2019–2022) and is completing a monograph on Wolfgang Tillmans’ ecological image thinking. She holds a PhD from the University of Oslo (2019) and was a Humboldt University postdoctoral fellow (2020).

Research Interests: Her work explores ecological frameworks in contemporary art, including how environmental and sensory concepts intersect with media and technological practices. Key themes include process ontology, climate aesthetics, and art’s role in mediating ecological crises.
