Sara McCaslin

Sara McCaslin is an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Texas at Tyler, housed within the Soules College of Business. She holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington (2003–2008), an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Tyler (2000–2002), a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution (1998–2000), and an A.A. in Engineering from Tyler Junior College (1996–1998).

Her research interests span engineering education, computational tools for material analysis, and online teaching strategies. She has published extensively on topics such as image processing for metallographic analysis, finite element methods, and challenges in transitioning engineering courses to online formats.
