Sara M Omar is an Assistant Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies at the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Georgetown University. Her academic work focuses on Islamic intellectual history, Qur'ānic exegesis, Islamic law, and gendered power dynamics across eight centuries of Islamic discourses.

Her research traces legal and social genealogies of normativity in Islamic history, particularly analyzing gendered patterns of authority and violence.
