Sara Lukić is a Full Professor at the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Forestry, specializing in Ecological Engineering in Soil and Water Resources Protection. She holds a PhD from 2013 and has been actively involved in academic roles since 2000. Currently, she serves as Deputy Head of the Department of Land Reclamation and participates in various scientific organizations like the World Association for Soil and Water Conservation (WASWAC).
Her research focuses on forest ecosystem restoration, protective shelterbelts, and land reclamation in degraded environments. Key contributions include studies on wind erosion control, afforestation effects, and carbon sequestration in Serbian ecosystems. She has led or contributed to over 10 scientific projects, including climate change impact studies funded by Serbia's Ministry of Education and Science.
Her teaching responsibilities include courses on forest amelioration, agroforestry systems, and phytoremediation at undergraduate and doctoral levels. Notable publications span topics like reclamation of mine tailings, spatial analysis of vegetation, and soil carbon dynamics. She is a Guest Editor for Sustainability Journal's Special Issue on Sustainable Geomatics and Civil Engineering.
Lukić has authored a textbook on protective forest belts and contributed to international conferences on forest restoration and environmental management. Her work emphasizes sustainable land practices and integrates ecological, engineering, and socio-economic perspectives.
