Dr. Alexander Baumgertel is an Assistant at the Faculty of Forestry, University of Belgrade, affiliated with the Department of Environmental Engineering in the Protection of Land and Water Resources. He has been engaged in critical research projects such as the Ministry of Science and Technological Development's III 43007 on climate change impacts and the ERASMUS KA2 SETOF project on soil erosion prevention curriculum development.

His research focuses on soil degradation, wind erosion modeling, watershed management, and agroforestry practices. He has contributed to over 25 scientific publications and participated in advanced training programs at the European Space Agency and the Russian Federation's Ministry of Education and Science.
His recent publications investigate spatiotemporal erosion patterns, climate change impacts on land degradation, and integrated watershed management techniques in Southeastern Serbia. He actively applies remote sensing and climate models to address environmental challenges.
