Sara Lombardo is an Associate Professor of Agronomy and Field Crops (AGR/02) at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment (Di3A) of the University of Catania, Italy. She holds a National Scientific Qualification (ASN) for both Associate and Full Professor roles in the same discipline.

- Master’s degree in Food Science and Technology (110/110 cum laude, 2004, University of Catania)
- PhD in "Productivity of Cultivated Plants" with a focus on "Biology of Mediterranean Crops" (2009, University of Catania)
Research Interests: Her work focuses on the qualitative and nutritional responses of Mediterranean crops (e.g., artichoke, potato, Cynara cardunculus) to environmental conditions, agronomic practices, and post-harvest treatments. She investigates bioactive compounds, organic farming impacts, and sustainable management of agro-ecosystems.
Collaborations: She collaborates with institutions including the University of Hohenheim (Germany), University of Leeds (UK), ENEA (Italy), and Universities of Monastir (Tunisia) and Torino (Italy).
