Sara Llorente González

Dr. Sara Llorente González is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Navarra and a Clinical Consultant in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Navarra Clinic since 2022. She specializes in vitreoretinal diseases, retinal vascular pathologies, and cataract surgery, with a focus on age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, and gene therapy.

• Graduated in Medicine and Surgery (Complutense University of Madrid, 2004)

Her research spans ocular adverse effects of chemotherapies, prevention of childhood myopia progression, and retinal pathologies. She coordinates clinical trials in diabetic macular edema and age-related macular degeneration and collaborates with national research networks like RICORS and RED2022-134750-T.

She has authored over 10 scientific publications and 8 book chapters, and participated in 10+ oral presentations and 20+ panel presentations. Her awards include the Best Panel Presentation at the 2007 National Congress of Ophthalmology Residents.
