Sara Lazzaroni is a Senior Assistant Professor (fixed-term) at the Department of Economics, University of Bologna. She holds a PhD in Economic Policy from the Catholic University of Milan, with prior roles as a Post-Doc and Junior Assistant Professor at the same university. Her research focuses on quantitative Economic History, Political Economy, and Development Economics, examining the roles of shocks, culture, and institutions in shaping socio-economic outcomes. Key topics include attitudes toward the state in Italy, discriminatory attitudes in the US and India, and long-term economic growth in Europe. She has also served as an External Consultant at the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) and received accolades such as the Professor Hans Opschoor Prize for best research paper.
