Sara L. Pearson is a faculty member in the English & Creative Writing department at Trinity Western University (TWU), within the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences. She holds advanced degrees in Classics, Christian Studies, and English Literature. Her research focuses on the Brontë family, 19th-century British literature, and intersections between religion and literature. She is currently editing a scholarly edition of Charlotte Brontë’s The Professor for the upcoming Cambridge Edition of the Brontë’s Novels and Poems.
Education: PhD in English (Boston University), MA in English (Boston University), MA in Christian Studies (Regent College), MA in Classics (University of Victoria).
Teaching: Courses include Major Authors, Victorian Poetry, 19th-Century Novels, and Classical/Biblical Backgrounds of English Literature.
Research highlights include studies on Charlotte Brontë’s engagement with religion, gender dynamics in her works, and intertextuality with authors like C.S. Lewis. She has received the Provost’s Innovative Teaching Award (2017) and a SSHRC grant (2014). Beyond academia, she enjoys gardening, UK travel, and long-distance walking with her husband.
