Sara Krehbiel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Santa Clara University, part of the College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a B.A.S. in Economics and Mathematical & Computational Science from Stanford University, an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Ph.D. in Algorithms, Combinatorics, & Optimization from Georgia Institute of Technology. Her research spans theoretical computer science, with a focus on data privacy, graph theory, and applications in health informatics. She currently teaches automata and formal languages and has previously taught courses in algorithms and discrete mathematics.
Dr. Krehbiel’s research projects include differential privacy for dynamic databases, concussion detection via EEG analysis, and algorithmic studies in graph theory. She collaborates with researchers such as Rachel Cummings, Prateek Bhakta, and Kathy Hoke. Her work has been highlighted in Insights by Stanford Business for its application of game theory to political strategy.
Her publications address topics ranging from privacy-preserving algorithms to medical diagnostics, reflecting her interdisciplinary approach. While no formal awards are listed, her contributions to data privacy and computational methods are well-regarded in her field.
