Sara Ajina is a Research Fellow at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences (NDCN), University of Oxford. She holds clinical qualifications (MBBS, MRCP) and a DPhil in Neuroscience, with a focus on visual cortex dysfunction and neuro-ophthalmological conditions.
- Education: MBBS, BSc, DPhil, MRCP
Her research explores blindsight mechanisms, extrastriate cortex activity, and compensatory neural pathways following V1 damage. She employs advanced neuroimaging techniques to investigate congenital and acquired visual brain disorders.
Recent publications highlight her work on:
- Geniculo-extrastriate pathway integrity in blindsight patients
- Contrast processing abnormalities in extrastriate cortex
- Neural compensation in V5/MT+ motion processing
- Clinical rehabilitation strategies for visual brain injuries
Collaborations include researchers at University College London, notably Professor Holly Bridge and Emeritus Professor Christopher Kennard.
