Santiago Anria

Santiago Anria is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Global Labor and Work at Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations. His research focuses on Latin American politics, with particular emphasis on political parties, social movements, and labor unions.

Education:

• Ph.D. in Political Science, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2015)

His work explores the interplay between social movements and political institutions, especially in the context of political polarization and democratic governance. He has published extensively in journals such as Politics & Society, Comparative Political Studies, and Latin American Politics and Society.

Anria’s current projects examine how social movements influence policy entrenchment and the dynamics of political polarization following Latin America’s ‘Left Turn.’
