Sanjay Bhowmick is an Associate Professor and Head of Business and Project Management at Northeastern University London, part of their Global Campus Network. He holds a PhD from the University of Auckland, an MBA and MSc from the University of Delhi, and is a Chartered Associate at the Institute of Bankers and UK Higher Education Fellow. Previously, he taught at Newcastle Business School and the University of Auckland, and served as a visiting professor at FLAME University, India. His research focuses on firm internationalisation, entrepreneurship, social cause venturing, and management of commons, with notable contributions to anti-money laundering studies and socio-economic resilience frameworks.
Key achievements include a GCRF grant for watermill revitalisation in sub-Himalayan regions and establishing a doctoral supervision record in creative industries entrepreneurship and anti-money laundering strategies. He has raised £100,000 annually for student startups and pioneered business plan competitions at the University of Auckland. His professional background spans banking, venture capital, and consulting, including roles as Country Director at Arthur Andersen in India and international advisory work with Lazard Brothers and IFC.
