Dr. Joras Ferwerda is an Associate Professor at Utrecht University School of Economics, specializing in applied economics with a focus on money laundering, organized crime, and public sector economics. He holds a PhD in Economics from Utrecht University and has held roles including Visiting Professor at the University of Maryland and Senior Researcher at VU Amsterdam. His research addresses illicit financial flows, tax avoidance, and policy effectiveness, with notable contributions to the Dutch National Risk Assessments (NRAs) and international projects like the Money Laundering Research Network (MLRN).
