Prof Sanjay Bhasin is a Professor of Innovation and Operational Excellence at the University of Buckingham, holding concurrent roles as Honorary Professor of Professional Practice and Visiting Lecturer. He serves as Programme Director for the Professional Doctorate in Operational Excellence. With a PhD in Lean from Aston University, his expertise spans industrial, educational, and public sector management. He previously led Continuous Improvement initiatives at the Probation Service in England and Wales.
His research focuses on leadership for Operational Excellence in public sectors and organizational cultural diagnostics. He is a master Black-belt in Lean Six Sigma (LSS), author of multiple international journal articles and three books, and a frequent keynote speaker. He holds editorial roles across three journals including the International Journal of Quality & Reliability Management and sits on the Board of the Institute for Continuous Improvement in Public Services.
Prof Bhasin is a Fellow of the Institute of Continuous Improvement in the Public Sector, the International Lean Six-Sigma Institute, and the Chartered Quality Institute. His work bridges academic research with practitioner applications through cutting-edge studies.
