Dr. Sanhong Yu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology at Yale School of Medicine. She joined Yale Pathology Staff in August 2023 after completing a two-year fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, focusing on surgical pathology and cytopathology. Her clinical expertise spans general surgical pathology and cytopathology, with research interests in head and neck, genitourinary, soft tissue pathology, and cytopathology. Dr. Yu holds a medical degree from Southeast University (China), a Ph.D. in Immunology and Infectious Disease from Pennsylvania State University, and completed postdoctoral training at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Harvard Medical School investigating PD-1/PD-L1 immunotherapy.

- Fellowship: General Surgical Pathology (Brigham and Women’s Hospital) and Cytopathology (Brigham and Women’s Hospital)
Her research focuses on translational pathology with 20 peer-reviewed publications to date. She is actively engaged in diagnostic and research activities related to oncologic and immunologic pathology.
