Sang Huynh

Sang Huynh is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the UWA Oceans Institute, The University of Western Australia, with expertise in molecular biology and genetics. Previously, he completed his PhD under Professor Ian Small at the ARC Center of Excellence in Plant Energy Biology, focusing on restorer-of-fertility proteins in plant mitochondria.

Research Interests: Huynh's work centers on plant mitochondrial molecular mechanisms (particularly cytoplasmic male sterility systems) and aquatic genomics. His expertise spans molecular diagnostics, genetic diversity analysis, and applications in crop breeding and sustainable agriculture, aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goals for food security.

Publication Trends: Recent work (2023-2025) demonstrates dual expertise: elucidating RNA-protein interactions in plant fertility restoration and advancing high-quality genome assemblies for marine species, reflecting interdisciplinary integration of wet-lab techniques and bioinformatics for agricultural and conservation applications.
