Sandy Wilkinson

Sandy Wilkinson is Professor of Early Modern History at UCD with expertise in print culture and digital humanities. His research reconstructs Iberian book production through computational analysis of bibliographic corpora.

Education includes PhD from University of St Andrews. Research focuses on:

• Iberian printing networks
• Vernacular translation patterns
• Ephemeral print survival
• Digital reconstruction methodologies

Leads major digital projects including Iberian Books (1472-1700) database and Early European Book Art initiative. Recipient of Mellon Foundation grants for computational bibliography. Current research applies AI to analyze decorative elements in early printed books.

Serves as Deputy College Principal coordinating infrastructure development. Editorial board member for Library of the Written Word monograph series.
