Dr. Sandy Balkema is Professor in the Department of English, Literature, and World Languages at Ferris State University's College of Arts, Sciences and Education. She serves as Dissertation Director for the Community College Leadership (DCCL) doctoral program and holds a Ph.D. in English & Education from the University of Michigan.
Her research focuses on advanced composition pedagogy, technical communication, and leadership development in higher education. She integrates industry experience as a technical writer/editor and instructional designer into her teaching methodologies.
