Sandy Welter is a Lecturer in the Department of English at Skidmore College, specializing in rhetoric and composition, cross-cultural communication, and travel writing. With a B.A. from Elmira College and an M.A. from the State University of New York at Albany, she teaches foundational writing courses including EN 100, EN 103, and EN 105, alongside specialized courses in language skills and academic writing.
Her teaching spans both domestic and international contexts, including Freshman English Speaking and Junior English Writing at Qufu University in China. She also contributes to the University Without Walls program with courses in Introduction to the Humanities and Writing Skills.
Based in Palamountain Hall 320, Sandy supports student learning through the MALS Thesis Research and Writing program and engages with interdisciplinary themes through the SSP Human Dilemmas course.
