Sandrine Wavrant

Sandrine Wavrant, MD, FRCSC, is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Montreal, affiliated with CHU Sainte-Justine, where she practices in the Maternal and Fetal Medicine division. She is actively involved in clinical care, medical education as a simulation instructor, and leadership in prenatal diagnosis and high-risk pregnancy services.

Her research interests center on fetal therapy, particularly fetoscopic interventions and laser treatment for twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, as well as broader aspects of fetal pathologies and multiple gestations. These interests are reflected in her clinical and academic roles within the university and hospital setting.

Dr. Wavrant contributes to ongoing clinical and evaluative research through the GIGO research division at CHU Sainte-Justine. She has held leadership positions, including Head of the Integrated Prenatal Diagnosis Center and Medical Manager of the Delivery Room and High-Risk Pregnancy Service.

She completed her medical training at Jules Verne University of Amiens, France, specialized in gynecology and obstetrics at Claude Bernard University of Lyon, and pursued advanced training in maternal and fetal medicine at the University of Montreal.

Dr. Wavrant is a member of the postdoctoral committee for the obstetrics and gynecology program at the University of Montreal since 2013 and has prior management experience as assistant head of clinic at Lyon Sud Hospital. She aims to expand fetal ultrasound simulation training, indicating a strong commitment to medical education and innovation.
