Sandrine Alegre

Dr Sandrine Alegre is a Senior Lecturer in the Politics, Languages & International Studies department at the University of Bath. She serves as French Section Convenor and is a qualified Coach for Workforce Development (HR), focusing on staff development and leadership coaching. Her research interests include intercultural communication, mediation in language education, curriculum design, and employability skills integration.

Education: Holds a PhD in Language and Communication Sciences, specializing in Mediation. Completed certifications in Coaching (ILM Level 5), Strengthscope® Practitioner, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).

Research Focus: Explores intercultural fluency in professional contexts, language teaching methodologies (e.g., flipped classrooms), and innovative approaches to enhancing student employability. Her work intersects with translation studies and professional communication.

Coaching & Development: Specializes in leadership development, intercultural coaching, change management, and work-life balance. Active in supporting staff transitioning back to work post-absence and career path transitions. Member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC UK/Global).

Labs/Teams: Leads French language curriculum development and collaborates with the Workforce Development team to design training programs. Engaged in institutional reforms and educational policy analysis.
