Dr. Sandra Trigano is a sociologist and political anthropologist affiliated with the Max Weber Center (UMR 5283) as an associate member. Her research focuses on the appropriation of industrial and working-class heritage through urban exploration and artistic practices, particularly in post-industrial cities like Saint-Etienne.
She is the author of the thesis Les artistes-habitants stéphanois. Appropriations de l'héritage ouvrier par l'exploration pédestre et la production d'images de la ville, which examines the role of 'artist-inhabitants' in reshaping urban narratives. Currently, she contributes to the ANR research program Socioresist, analyzing 'ordinary resistance' in contexts of domination.
Her interdisciplinary work bridges sociology, cultural studies, and urban anthropology, with a specific interest in how humor functions as a tool for resistance within alternative cultural scenes.
