Sandra Stephenson is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Spring Arbor University (SAU), where she has taught since 2019. She holds a Bachelor's and Master's in Social Work from SAU, and a Doctorate in Leadership and Higher Education from Trevecca Nazarene University. Her expertise spans mental health, trauma-informed care (TF-CBT), and social work education. She teaches both on-campus BSW programs and hybrid MSW courses.
Research interests include adverse childhood experiences, student resilience, and social work pedagogy. She actively contributes to the NASW and Jackson Salvation Army. Sandra emphasizes SAU's community-focused culture, citing its collaborative ethos as central to her work. She also serves on advisory boards for Professional Women's organizations.
Outside academia, she is deeply involved in Arbor Church, family life, and outdoor activities. Her family includes her husband Allen, three children, and a grandson.
