Sandra Scheier is a Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Kennesaw State University (KSU), with over 25 years of teaching experience. She holds a BA in Psychology from the University of South Carolina (1989) and an MS in Clinical Psychology from Augusta University (1991).
Her research interests focus on the intersection of psychology and well-being, including nature’s influence on mental health, stress management, health psychology, positive psychology, learning behaviors, and mindfulness. She has collaborated on research projects, such as studying love styles with Dr. Keith Davis and learning styles under Dr. Jane Ellis.
In addition to teaching, Scheier has professional experience in counseling, psychological testing, and case management. She actively engages in outdoor activities like tennis, hiking, and swimming, which inform her teaching philosophy. She also participates in sketch comedy with her group Sketchworks, integrating humor and real-life examples to create dynamic, relatable classroom environments.
Scheier teaches a broad range of courses, including Introduction to General Psychology, Psychology of Adjustment, Research Methods in Psychology, and Principles of Psychological Testing.
