Sandra Oreper

Sandra Oreper is an Academic Research Coach at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Division of Hospital Medicine, where she supports projects aimed at improving health outcomes. She previously worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator at UCLA’s Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. Sandra holds an MPH in Epidemiology from UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and a BA in Psychology and Cognitive Science from UCLA.

Her research interests include epidemiology, public health, and clinical research, with a focus on data-driven approaches to identify population health risks and improve hospital systems. She transitioned into this field after discovering her passion for epidemiology during undergraduate studies, where she explored infectious diseases and infection prevention in healthcare settings. Sandra’s work emphasizes collaboration and methodological rigor to advance patient care and health outcomes.

Sandra was born and raised in Los Angeles to parents who emigrated from Jalostotitlán, Jalisco, Mexico, and maintains strong ties to her extended family there. Outside of work, she enjoys running, reading, traveling, and exploring local cuisine.
