Associate Professor Sandra Nolte is based at Monash University’s Eastern Health Clinical School, leading the Person-Centred Research Directorate. She holds an adjunct position at Swinburne University of Technology. Her research focuses on patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), psychometrics, and health-related quality of life, particularly in oncology. With over 20 years of experience across academia, non-profits, and industry, she collaborates internationally with institutions like ISOQOL and EORTC. She is President-Elect of ISOQOL, commencing in 2025.
Educated at Charité - University Medicine Berlin (Habilitation in 2022), RMIT University (PhD in 2008), and the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg (BA Honours in 2000), her work addresses PRO measurement standardization and cross-cultural adaptation. Current projects include the EORTC QLQ-C30 normative data initiatives and a study on side-effect burden in clinical trials.
Research interests span validation theory, survey design, and health services research. She is actively mentoring students in PRO research and health-related quality of life studies. Notable contributions include developing the EORTC QLU-C10D utility measure and advancing PROMIS® methodologies.
Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing equitable healthcare measurement. Collaborations span Australia, Germany, and the UK, fostering global PRO research networks.
