Sandra Maria Zavatarelli

Sandra Maria Zavatarelli is a Contract Professor at the University of Genoa's Department of Physics (DIFI). Her research focuses on nuclear astrophysics, particularly studying astrophysical reactions relevant to stellar nucleosynthesis and explosive events. She contributes to experiments at the LUNA (Laboratory for Underground Nuclear Astrophysics) facility and collaborates with international projects like KM3NeT.

• Teaches Physics for the Energy Engineering undergraduate program and Astroparticle Physics for the Physics master's program at the University of Genoa.
• Active in experimental studies of key nuclear reactions for understanding hydrogen and carbon burning in stars, as well as sodium production in novae/supernovae.

Her recent work includes developing high-energy resolution gas target setups for NeNa cycle reactions, analyzing proton-capture reactions like 12C(p,γ)13N, and investigating neutrino emissions from gamma-ray bursts using neutrino telescopes.
