Sandra Barclay is an architect and Associate Professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) since 2006. She holds a Master's in Landscape and Territory from Universidad Diego Portales (UDP), Chile, and received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Piura, Peru (2018). Her academic career includes visiting professorships at Yale School of Architecture (2019, 2021), University of Virginia (2020), and Harvard GSD (2022).

Barclay's research focuses on architecture that integrates cultural heritage, climate resilience, and sustainable design. Her work explores spatial ambiguity, traditional techniques reinterpreted through modern design, and urban integration in developing contexts. Notable projects include the University of Piura facilities, Paracas Museum, and Place of Memory in Lima, which reflect her expertise in climate-responsive design and community engagement.
Her studio Barclay & Crousse has received prestigious awards such as the Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize (2018), Oscar Niemeyer Prize (2016), and Latin America Prize (2013). She served as Jury Chair for MCHAP (2022-2023) and was a juror for the Venice Biennale (2021) and Lafarge Holcim Awards (2020).
