Sanderien Verstappen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the Faculty of Social Sciences. Her work focuses on ethnographic filmmaking, migration studies, gender dynamics, and digital anthropology. She explores topics such as transnational migrant practices, urban cycling culture, and the intersection of technology with human behavior.
Research Interests: Ethnographic film production, digital ethnography, migration and diaspora studies, gender roles in mobility, and sustainable urban development. Her recent projects include analyzing the impact of displacement on remittance economies and examining how online platforms shape community identities.
