Dr. Sanda Erdelez is a Professor and Dean of the School of Library and Information Science at Simmons University. With academic credentials from the University of Osijek Law School (LL.B., LL.M) and a Ph.D. in information transfer from Syracuse University, she has held faculty positions at the University of Missouri, University of Texas at Austin, and University of Osijek.
Her research focuses on human information behavior, human-computer interaction, and usability evaluation in online environments, with international recognition for pioneering work on information encountering and opportunistic discovery. Current or former leadership roles include chair of the iSchools Organization and service in the Association for Information Science & Technology (ASIS&T), where she chaired SIG USE and served on the Board of Directors.
