Samuel Zambrano Silva

Samuel Zambrano Silva is an Associate Professor of Applied Physics at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University (Milan, Italy) since October 2020, previously serving as Senior Researcher (2017-2020) and Postdoctoral Fellow (2011-2017). He is affiliated with the IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute and leads the Live-Cell Transcription and Chromatin Group within the Chromatin Dynamics Unit.

His research focuses on nonlinear dynamics in biological systems, particularly the quantitative analysis of transcription factor dynamics (NF-κB, p53) in inflammation and cancer. He develops mathematical models of coupled oscillators to study tissue-level inflammation and investigates chromatin organization in oncogene-induced senescence. Current projects include "New Preclinical and Clinical Approaches to Mesothelioma" (Ministry of Health, 2024-) and "D3 for HEALTH" (2003-2027).

Recent publications (2021-2025) span transcription factor dynamics in Cell Death & Disease, Molecular Psychiatry, and Frontiers in Immunology, with methodological work in IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems. His 15 most recent articles reveal trends in systems biology of inflammation, cancer-associated signaling, and nonlinear dynamics in medical contexts.
