Samuel White is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of the West of Scotland's School of Business and Creative Industries. He holds a PhD from the University of Dundee (funded by the Carnegie Trust) and previously worked in financial risk/compliance. His research focuses on international human rights treaties' application in UK courts, cultural heritage protection in conflict, and legal mechanisms for treaty compliance. He is a Rapporteur for Oxford Reports on International Law, analyzing UN human rights treaty bodies' decisions.

His research interests include constitutional law, domestic/international law interaction, and international criminal law. He received the Henry Scrymgeour Prize for Justice Law and Human Rights in 2014. Current projects include an RSE-funded grant examining Scottish courts' use of human rights treaties and UK compliance with ICCPR/ECHR obligations.
Teaching includes Advanced Public Law, International Criminal Law, and Legal Research Methods. He advises on Human Rights Act reforms, with his evidence cited by Parliament's Joint Committee on Human Rights.
