Dr. Samuel Jarvis is a Senior Lecturer in Physics and leads the Atomic Imaging and Surface Chemistry Group at Lancaster University. He serves as Director of Lancaster IsoLab and Head of Lancaster XPS, focusing on atomic-scale characterization of functional materials. His research bridges fundamental surface science with applications in green energy and quantum technology.

Research Interests: Dr. Jarvis investigates:
- Surface chemistry and single atom catalysis
- Directed assembly of 2D molecular structures
- Scanning probe microscopy in ultra-low noise environments
- Thermoelectric energy materials for waste heat recovery
- Atomic-scale characterization of 2D materials for quantum technology
Scientific Contributions: His recent £7M Quantum engineering of energy-efficient molecular materials (QMol) project spans 2023–2028. The group utilizes advanced facilities including atomic resolution AFM, STM, XPS, and synchrotron XSW studies. Notable publications include studies on single-molecule bond mapping and surface reconstruction mechanisms.
