Samuel James Henry is a Research Fellow in Psychological Assessment at the University of Tartu's Institute of Psychology (2024–2027). He holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Edinburgh (2024) and an MSc in Psychology of Individual Differences (2018), alongside a BS in Neuroscience from Ohio State University (2016). His research focuses on personality assessment, psychometrics, and individual differences, with notable work on the HEXACO model and Grit Scale validation. He has received the 2022 Outstanding Tutor Award from the University of Edinburgh.
Key research interests include cross-cultural validity of personality measures, multi-rater data analysis, and improving psychological assessment tools. His work often integrates large-scale datasets like the Estonian Biobank for cohort studies. Recent projects examine neurobiological mechanisms linking early regulatory problems to mental health outcomes. He has supervised several collaborative projects and authored/co-authored articles on personality structure, measurement reliability, and trait-environment interactions.
