Research interests focus on high resolution magnetic resonance techniques for studying neurodegenerative diseases and bioengineered constructs. His lab develops:
- High field MRI methodologies (up to 21.1T)
- Contrast agents for cellular and tissue imaging
- RF coil design and MR sequence optimization
- Applications in ALS, Alzheimer’s, and stroke models
Publication trends demonstrate expertise in:
- Stem cell therapy evaluation using MRI
- Diffusion and sodium imaging in neurological conditions
- Contrast agent development (iron oxides, 19F-based agents)
- Bioreactor systems for extracellular vesicle production
Professional roles include:
- Past Chair, ISMRM MR Engineering Study Group
- Faculty Supervisor, FAMU-FSU BMES Student Chapter
- Peer Reviewer for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, Journal of Magnetic Resonance, and others
Laboratory collaborations span neurology, biomedical engineering, and materials science, leveraging the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory’s 21.1T MRI systems for cellular and tissue analysis.
