Samuel Grant

Samuel Grant, Ph.D. is a Professor at the Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering within the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. He serves as the Postdoctoral Fellow Director and is affiliated with the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory.

Research interests focus on high resolution magnetic resonance techniques for studying neurodegenerative diseases and bioengineered constructs. His lab develops:

• High field MRI methodologies (up to 21.1T)
• Contrast agents for cellular and tissue imaging
• RF coil design and MR sequence optimization
• Applications in ALS, Alzheimer’s, and stroke models

Publication trends demonstrate expertise in:

• Stem cell therapy evaluation using MRI
• Diffusion and sodium imaging in neurological conditions
• Contrast agent development (iron oxides, 19F-based agents)
• Bioreactor systems for extracellular vesicle production
