Dr. Samueal Mengistu serves as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering at the University of Greenwich, where he has been employed since 2002 after initially joining as a visiting lecturer. His academic career began in 1996 with a research assistant position at Alfa Laval and the University of Greenwich, followed by a lecturer role at Crawley College prior to his Greenwich appointment.
His research focuses on Bulk Solids Handling and Abrasive Wear, with significant contributions through collaborations at the Wolfson Center for Bulk Solid Handling technology under Professor Mike Bradley. Current work includes joint research with Dr. Mark Bingley on abrasive wear mechanisms, reflecting his specialization in material degradation and industrial handling systems within mechanical engineering.
Dr. Mengistu published two papers during his research student phase and is actively preparing additional publications. His work maintains strong ties to the Wolfson Center, where he investigates practical engineering solutions for bulk material flow and wear resistance in industrial applications.
