Samira Ebrahimian is an Assistant Lecturer and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidate in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Monash University. Her research focuses on heterogeneous catalysis, CO₂ hydrogenation for clean energy applications, and advanced characterization techniques such as in situ DRIFTS and synchrotron IR spectroscopy. She investigates reaction mechanisms and catalyst design for sustainable processes like methanol and dimethyl ether (DME) synthesis.
Teaching commitments include courses in chemical engineering fundamentals (CHE1010), transport phenomena (CHE3167), reaction engineering (CHE3164), and foundational mathematics (ENG1090). Her work bridges catalytic innovation with industrial process optimization, addressing challenges in thermal coupling and reactor design for energy-efficient systems.
Samira’s research emphasizes reducing carbon footprints through CO₂ conversion and developing multifunctional catalysts. She collaborates on projects involving 3D-printed catalyst supports and high-entropy alloys for enhanced catalytic performance.
