Samir Sonti is an Assistant Professor of Urban Studies at Saint Louis University (SLU), specializing in U.S. labor history and political economy. Prior to SLU, he held roles in the labor movement and has been the Books & Arts Editor of New Labor Forum since 2019. His current research focuses on the political dimensions of inflation in 20th-century America.
Education: B.A. and B.S. in Political Science and Economics from the University of Pennsylvania (2009), followed by a Ph.D. in History from the University of California, Santa Barbara (2017).

- Effects of financialization on labor conditions
- Labor and employment policy
- Historical political economy
- Social and economic inequality
Key Publications include co-editing Labors Partisans (2025) and articles on institutional Keynesianism, postwar economic policy, and labor strikes. His work bridges historical analysis with contemporary policy debates.
