Dr. Samia Hoque is a Senior Lecturer in Sustainability at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School. Her research focuses on Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainable Supply Chain Management, Sustainable Innovation, and Social Enterprise, with a geographical emphasis on Bangladesh and global value chains. She employs qualitative methodologies and fuzzy-set analysis (fsQCA) in her research.

Her current projects include examining coping strategies of Bangladeshi third sector organizations during the pandemic (supported by MMU's Research Development Grant) and exploring social value creation through sport organizations (UKRI International Collaborative Fund). Research interests span sustainable business models in developing economies, ethical governance in global supply chains, and social innovation pathways.
Her publications demonstrate a consistent focus on sustainable business practices in developing economies, particularly Bangladesh. Key themes include ethical governance in global value chains, institutional challenges in social enterprises, and innovative responses to supply chain disruptions.
Teaching roles include unit leadership for Sustainability and Sustainable Development (Level 7), Responsible Business for People and Planet (Level 6), and supervision of MSc dissertations. She currently co-supervises a PhD project on pharmaceutical firms in West Africa.
